This book aims to diagnose the current status of advanced human resource development (AHRD) in three key areas such as government, state-owned enterprises, and R&D which are arguably most compelling pillars to sustainable development of Vietnam. Vietnam has been recognized as one of most dynamic, fastest growing developing countries particularly since the Doi Moi reforms were introduced in 1986. While Vietnam still faces various challenges, the country has demonstrated high performing economic growth as one of the major middle-income countries and continued to build a springboard to leap forward a high-income country by accelerating pace of economic growth, promoting inclusive growth, and enhancing quality of government.
