Our Beloved Church first started to engage with missions in Africa on May 28th, 2018. During these past 4.5 years of missions, 1.5 of those years were a long hiatus due to Covid-19. Our churches in Africa, however, have shown an explosive growth during this time despite such obstacles.
Beloved Church now has 323 satellites in Africa, 27 of which have weekly attendances of over 1000 members. Our total number of members is more than 130,000, and what is more incredible is that for several weeks we have been seeing a growth of 10,000 people each week.
This recent mission trip to Africa was the 7th one, and it was carried out by our mission team consisting of the team leader Pastor Sung Won Jin (executive pastor of Beloved Church headquarters), our Harvard-graduate interpreter Pastor Daniel Huh (lead pastor of New York Beloved Church), and logistics manager Pastor Inho Bae (lead pastor of Daegu Beloved Church). This mission trip was a long one, spanning over 100 days of travel through 5 African countries (Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, Zimbabwe, Zambia). During this time, the mission team was involved in overseeing our various African branches, teaching 8 pastoral seminars, and conducting 3 large healing crusades.
Each healing crusade consisted of three days, totaling 9 individual sessions. But during this time, we witnessed a staggering 32,500 people receive Jesus. The secret to such results lies in the biblical truth and the true gospel that was preached, as well as the incredible healings and miracles that remind us of the happenings in the book of Acts.
Perhaps some of you reading this still have some lingering doubts or questions in your minds. ¡®Does God really exist? Is he really the singular creator of the universe?¡¯ ¡®Is the gospel of Christianity really the only path to salvation?¡¯ ¡®Is there really a heaven and a hell, and is it true that we can only go to heaven if we repent and believe?¡¯
I was led by the Holy Spirit to compile in this book the mission reports for the 7th mission trip for the very people who may have such lingering questions. I suggest you immerse yourself in the reality of what is happening in Africa as you see the colorful pictures and read the powerful testimonies in these reports. You will witness your doubts dissipate and your faith spurt forth from inside of you. Hallelujah!
